Nokia N70 and Linux

I recently installed Linux in my computer since Windows gave me some problems (and I had too many games which distract me sooooo much).

Sometimes I connect my phone to my computer to save pictures and get some music on the phone so when I realized I couldn’t exchange files I got a bit worried and started to do some research ;) I finally found a package that can be used with phones regardless the connection you use (Bluetoot®, USB or IR).

How to convert mp3 to amr (for mobile phones!)

*** Only for Linux!! ***
for Windows and Linux

Eva and me have been searching a way to get music for our new Sharp 770SH for a while now. It’s very difficult as the size of the mp3’s are very high for a cell phone and the AMR format was our best option.

So I started to search the way I could do such thing…and it has been hard to find. But then the amazing ffmpeg came into my life :P

Downloading Dapper Flight 2 ISO

Uhmmm, I was thinking maybe the Dapper iso would be better than just changing the source.list but still…I will try to use my old xorg.conf file to get into KDE again ;) I don't like the idea of still having KDE 3.5.0 because some people have been sasying that we should wait until the next release (3.5.1)…but hey, I have to risk a little

PS: If you still want to download the ISO (or torrent) here is the link with all your possibilities ;)

Changing sources.list to Dapper…

Yesterday I changed my repositories to Dapper, but it broke my system and I couldn’t boot Kubuntu…lets see whats going on, I will use the old Xorg file and try to use it to start up KDE (which I think is the problem)…but I will have to wait until the evening when I come back from work…dammn it!

In order ti change it to dapper, I replaced everything that has to do with breezy to drapper…and that was it.

My sources.list ended up like this:

# deb cdrom:[Kubuntu 5.10 _Breezy Badger_ - Release i386 (20051012)]/ breezy main restricted

deb http://es.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu dapper main restricted
deb-src http://es.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu dapper main restricted
deb http://es.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu dapper universe
deb-src http://es.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu dapper universe

Or something, not sure now. At the end I had to reinstall the whole system as it crashed my system and wasn’t able to boot. Now I have it back to Breezy :) let’s wait until next release! when? well, as the Flight CD4 has been released on February 19th, I’ll have to wait a little bit more :P
